Really liking Chris Perrins’ Mecha. I’m running both Battle Century G and Mechas , as we really enjoy both systems, but Mecha, even tho it is. Mecha RPG Softcover has 10 ratings and 6 reviews. Last, as for the lack of battlemap and character sheet…yeah, those were big oversights that we tried to correct by putting the sheet on MechaRPG.

Gives you similar versatility, but doesn’t change the basic math. One thing I have done that was really cool, was asking the players to create their own mecha, then to tell them: Low rating skills seem to simulate a gritty realistic universe while high rating skill take you in the super heroic manga realm. I have 2 to 3 players every session, friends of mine. The don’t get selected often, though I had one player, who used Bulwark frighteningly effectively. In fact, I might go grab the book.

Problem is, Kaijus shoved off the attacks of my players like mosquitoes, and later during combat against ace pilots of other mecha, I noticed that without the capture point, battles can take forever, and there isn’t really many reasons to be moving arround the battlefield without it anyways. The quotes that go along with each Configuration are definitely supposed to assume a particular setting which is why they indicate a setting So, if something happens to your drive, you should just be able to download a second copy and never have to face the abject horror of living without a Mecha PDF!
So when we did find ourselves in a physical confrontation, the result was that we couldn’t even move around the battlefield because we’d spend turn after turn rolling 0 successes for movement.
Statistically, once you hit 4, you’ll have a superior chance of getting a success in the many d6s you roll, it’s extremely swingy. We will probably make up our own system reference schematic, as I was not really wild about the three included in the rule book, but the game gives plenty of suggestions on how to do just that. I am not certain this is present in all of the printings. It give the game a great pacing, and having a battle after every table turn is really fun.
Her mech has some kind of “Versatile Defense” configuration based around the Defense linked trait. Yeah tracking initiative is a pain. But this was related to the skills setting the target numbers.

At first I was also very sceptical about having to roll initiatives, but when you play for the objective, initiative become very important and quite exciting when someone have the control of the objective at the end of a turn.
Share this project Done. They add a lot of color to the game. As for Heavy Metal, my concept was always that the mecha essentially rooted itself to the ground and gained defense because of it. We used them a lot at the beginning perirn playtesting, but over time, they fell out of use. We needed a little kick to get something out about Mecha and our plans for the future.
